 Well Made, Surprised by How Rough They Are Jul 22, 2010
These are high quality and I recommend them. One minor thing: Might just be that I haven't used wooden utensils much, but I was a bit surprised by how rough these are. There defintely aren't any splinters, but they are not smooth. After washing in dishwasher (top rack) a few times, I think spoon got significantly rougher, so I'm going to wash them by hand from now on.

This set of Calphalon spoons is under $10. These are great spoons for that price. I always love Calphalon stuff and these spoons are no exception.

the spatula split on the end after 2 or 3 uses. it is not an easy thing to clean.

When I saw that the product was made by Calphalon, I was expecting quality. While they may be quality tools, they're a little lacking in finish. The wood is very porous and rough, almost like they missed a step. From the picture I was expecting at least the handles would be smooth or have a polish like finish.
They're just extremely uncomfortable to hold, almost scratchy and rough, it just feels like it's drying out your hands. The turner has a splinter sticking out of it, I took some sandpaper to it but it's still missing a chunk now. I have nicer wooden spoons that I got from the dollar store. But for the price I suppose they're okay, but they don't live up to the Calphalon name.

Love this item - however, must rinse and clean the item immediately after use for best lasting power. The wooden set is perfect for not scratching the calphalon pans / or teflon pans when used to cook with.
